Please help, Axe W/Mo can't stay alive
Can't take on a group of 3-4 Grawls as a Axe W/Mo when I can with a Sword W/N, but I want to use axes and I'm tired of the blood pirate thing..

For PvM, self healing and tactics based stances work pretty well...

Look at monk spells, Mending and Balthazar's Spirit alone make the build useful at start.
What you want of a W/Mo build is the monk support spells, spells that make you gain energy, adrenaline and health as you being hit.
Also later you start looking at the smite spells of the monk class, like Balthazar's Aura (but that one is expensive) since its holy damage that like necro magic have no way to be resisted like necromancer and mesmer spells.

Grawl Necros' have anti-enchantment spells. Bye bye monk spells, unless you fight only the warriors. But then again, they still have interrupts.

There is the art of sprint away, recover, go back in, kill one and then sprint out of danger, repeat.
Hit and run tactics do work but its a question of mobs, I stay sway from Tengu and the like because their mix units mob group is effective but I am not afraid of trolls or any mob/creature that lack anti-enchantment spells, when soloing its a question of knowing what to fight, when to fight and when to run away.

So a pretty normal wa/mo soloist build would be?

Depends, farming appears to be spawning Baltazar aura with skills to make you gain energy when you are hit and skills to lower damage and find yourself some ettins, flesh golems (those ones have necro abilities now but still) or anything that cannot break your enchantments and let it rip with the axe (since axe skills are a bit AoE), its kinda a varient of a smite monk expect warriors have armor and HP to not need so many protection spells, not to say they lack the energy for it.

You might want to have a look at some of the builds I posted.

Vigorous spirit + cyclone axe is a start. Add in healing hands or mark of protection and you should be good to go. Shielding hands works too. Basically, spells that don't heal for a set amount but whose effectiveness increases with a larger number of enemies. A cyclone axe in the middle of tons of grawl with vigorous spirit active, should give you a huge boost in health.

Locusts' skill layout is pretty much found in all warrior/monk builds, reguardless. However, disenchanters will still make your monk skills useless.
